I posted a picture a few weeks ago of a new print I was working on... and here it is! You may recognise the pattern from a ceramic plate design that I produced earlier this year for the White Horse Exhibition at the Zillah Bell Gallery, Thirsk. The White Horse in North Yorkshire is found just outside the pretty village of Kilburn. I have been wanting to turn the pattern into a print since then... and I've finally done it. The print will be available online in the New Year.
It was a super day on sunday, lot's of lovely people and a great selection of goodies. Prints, Ceramics, knits, willow weaving, leather work, homewares and even flying pigs... as well as some tasty food! You should definitely pop on down to the Prema cafe if you're in the Uley area.

Packs of the grey/white linocut decorations.
Christmas is fast approaching and I'm busying myself producing festive printed treats. Here are some of the first items to be finished. Hand printed linocut decorations, designed and printed by me on my little press! There are two colour ways (red/white and grey/white) and nine designs in total. Each pack contains 6 different decorations... a bit of a lucky dip... which ones will you get? Packs are available exclusively from my online shop. I will also be selling them at Prema's Christmas Affordable Art Fair on Sunday 9th December, Uley, South Gloucestershire... more on that later!
Red and White
I am currently producing a festive print which will include these bauble designs, so keep your eyes peeled!

Zillah Bell Linocut Print
I was asked to produce a print of the Zillah Bell gallery. I decided to have an experiment with using more than just two colours in a linocut and this is what happened. It was quite a learning curve and something I hope to experiment with more in the future. The print is available from the gallery. It is £175 and a limited edition of just 10.

I was asked by a lovely couple if I could produce a print of their home in a similar vein to my 'House 1-5' print series. Here it is!

Hand painted plate
Here is some background info for you...
'In 2009 we invited artists to produce work on the theme of ‘The White Horse' with particular reference to the White Horse at Kilburn, near Thirsk. The reaction was doubly enthusiastic, both from the artists who submitted a wide ranging and inspired body of work in all media, and from gallery clients who evidently enjoyed the exhibition just as much as the exhibitors had.
Indeed, such was the success of the show that we felt it was time to repeat it but this year the work will also include neighbouring Hood Hill and Lake Gormire.'
Hand painted tile and frame 1/1
This year I have been invited to join in the fun and produced the above pieces for the event.

I am just terrible at blogging. I think I'm going to end up doing quarterly posts at this rate. The run up to Christmas was a little on the hectic side and all my photo taking never seemed to make it onto here. So here is a massive catch up, as well as some new, relevant, happening now sort of info!
My snowflake paper cut inspired christmas card/print. It is in fact a repeated linocut.
Bauble painting for Christmas presents.
Christmas doors in London.
A new plate.
Finally, at the end of last week I was busy in Prema, Uley, hanging work for an exhibition I have there from monday 9th January until Saturday 18th Fabruary. Come along and have a look at the Curiosity Cabinet!
